On 20-21 February 2014 in Barcelona the FELIX partners has met again, this time to discuss the implementation details of the FELIX framework. Particular functional blocks communication interfaces and framework workflows were exhaustively discussed in order to define the final FELIX example deployment, which will allow to execute user use cases in a test –bed.

FELIX @ APAN Jan 2014 The Asia Pacific Advanced Network (APAN, www.apan.net) holds two large meetings every year, on the development and use of National Research and Education Networks (NREN), to support research, education and benefits to society. The Asia-Pacific Advanced Network 37th Meeting (APAN37) was held in Bandung, Indonesia from 20-24 January.

On 18-21 November 2013 the city of Denver, Colorado hosted the SuperComputing exhibition event (http://sc13.supercomputing.org), which was a great opportunity to industry and research institutions to demonstrate their products, solutions and research interests to the whole world. FELIX project did not missed the opportunity to be present there and attract the attention of the research.

On 24-25 October 2013 in Frankfurt am Main the FELIX partners meet together to define the FELIX overall architecture. The base for this work was a D2.1 deliverable, which consists of FELIX deployment use cases and its requirements. On 12-13 September 2013 in Berlin the FELIX partners meet together to describe and discuss a real use cases for project results implementation. Each use case is a real case, which partners are willing to investigate and implement for various purposes, e.g. performance tests, real problem solution, validation of concept, etc. A six use cases.

On July 2nd, 2013  in Tokyo The European Comission with  Japanese authorities from Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) and National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT)  announced launch of six research projects, including FELIX. On Tokyo event EC, MIC and NICT signed a memorandum confirming the start of ICT research projects as the first case.

The first general project meeting took place on 7th and 8th of June 2013 in Maastrich. The meeting purpose was to initiate the work of all the partners by letting them meet.

On 3-6 June 2013 a TERENA Networking Conference was held in Maastricht, Netherlands. As a most prestigious European research networking conference, with over 5400 participants, it attract the attention of many European scientific communities, engineers and industry representatives.
