4th FELIX Meeting: Towards FELIX implementation

On 20-21 February 2014 in Barcelona the FELIX partners has met again, this time to discuss the implementation details of the FELIX framework. Particular functional blocks communication interfaces and framework workflows were exhaustively discussed in order to define the final FELIX example deployment, which will allow to execute user use cases in a test –bed environment. Specific tools, technologies and standards were selected for adaptation and a FELIX implementation roadmap was defined, expecting to have working prototypes in Q4 of 2014.

3rd FELIX Meeting: General Architecture and Functional Blocks

On 24-25 October 2013 in Frankfurt am Main the FELIX partners meet together to define the FELIX overall architecture. The base for this work was a D2.1 deliverable, which consists of FELIX deployment use cases and its requirements. The outcome of the meeting was a generic architecture and main functional blocks definitions, which are states the fundamental functionality and workflows of FELIX. The architecture is defined in a generic manner leaving sufficient freedom of implementation choices, including selection of technology, various tools re-usage, and interfaces definitions. The result overall architecture can be viewed.

2nd FELIX Meeting: Experiment Use Cases and Requirements

On 12-13 September 2013 in Berlin the FELIX partners meet together to describe and discuss a real use cases for project results implementation. Each use case is a real case, which partners are willing to investigate and implement for various purposes, e.g. performance tests, real problem solution, validation of concept, etc. A six use cases were defined and explained, where all are unable to be fully addressed with state of the art solutions, and require new architecture and/or integration of specific tools being results of independent projects. Basing on the use cases FELIX defined a user requirements, which are the main input for FELIX architecture definition.
